How to Buy a House in Riften?

I did talk with Anuriel and there's no option to buy a house.
So I search around YouTube to see how do I buy it, and in this video it tells me I need to do a quest for someone in the town, but I did more tha 6 quests and still Anuriel doesn't allow me to buy the house...

Riften is a little different than other homes for sale. Once you perform the 'favor' for the Jarl, there is no running tally of how many more quests you must do to become Thane. You just need to do side quests for residents until you see a message appear to report to the Jarl.

Strange, I have never become Thane in Riften and I've never had any problem buying the house.
The only good deeds I've done there is help the Stableboy, pay Maul for information and expose the guards entrance fee scam.

You need to do the quest with the scoma addict argonian woman working at the fishhouse.

Ah yes, the scooma addict. I guess I did do that one as well.

It is not required to become thane to purchase Honeyside, you must purchase Honeyside to become Thane.

I already did it.
We just need to do the Female Argonian quest about Scooma.
We will do 3 or 4 more quests after that and the Jarl will allow us to buy Honeyside.

It's pretty easy to do favours for people in Riften and help them out. There are a number of those types of quests to do there.
