Favorite Playthrough?
Hey all! I'm curious about what your favorite playthrough has been? Looking for more ideas for roleplay! It can be a roleplay, but it can also be a general playthrough, a favorite experience, etc. My favorite was a beautiful paladin who dedicated her life to being a Vigilant of Stendarr. I did my best to avoid killing (except for situations when it was necessary, like story progression or item obtaining) and collected all the daedric artifacts. Then, when I went to Sovngarde, I dropped all the artifacts so they wouldn't be accessible to humans. It felt good. I also played a game as Lord Voldemort; that was super fun.

Oh that's an interesting one! I've heard of the "Researcher" playthrough, when you just collect items, weapons and books rather than engage in combat. I haven't done it yet, but it sounds fun!

Ive had a couple.

A Bosmer hunter who just hunted the Rift for pelts, then sold them in Riften. Stayed the nights at the inns in Riften and Iverstead, bought lots of mead. Did no quests at all, and made level 21 before I got bored.

An Orc miner. Went from Stronghold to stronghold mining ore, then selling it for food and mead. Only made level 8 by killing critters between strongholds.

Both of these were using Eat,Drink,Sleep,Bathe mod. Lots of fun.

I've done pure mage, I've done total misanthrope (meaning killing any people you encounter), I've done anti-Undead paladin (with the Requiem mod; it made undead legitimately dangerous), I've done lawful assassin...

I liked them all a lot, though my absolute favorite was an illusion-casting sneakybeaky archer who stayed away from any health bonuses and armor and played on Legendary - meaning one-hit deaths by practically everything. Which was fun because I really learned how to play games with enemies.

My favorite character was a Khajiit kleptomaniac that uses pickpocket and telekinesis to steal literally everything I can find. I don't even sell it, I just store it in some random cave that I will use as my base, usually broken fang cave.

Docsprock and Why Are We Still... I've done something similar! Using Alternative Start, I just made myself a Bosmer hunter with similar rules and explored. It was a lot of fun! I didn't take quests, but still learned more about the map and hidden gems than I have during usual playthroughs.

ShMo Lawful Assassin? Don't believe I've heard of that one. I've had multiple thief/assassin runs and get so tired of them. It seems, sometimes, that the game is built to strongly benefit the thief build because of all the crits and increased sneak damage. Sneak/Bow or Sneak/Dagger has always been my go-to, I might try full mage though! Haven't done that before.

"Lawful Assassin" as in goes and murders people, but that's it. Just Dark Brotherhood stuff, no aimless spelunking or dungeon-delving.

Full mage was pretty fun. Definitely quest hard for the College of Winterhold to get some early-game magicka boosts. Eventually got to the part where I'd go Invisibility and Muffle, break invisibility with a dual-casting of Dragonhide for crazy physical armor, bust out dual bound swords, and slash everything up while mostly wearing magic resistance and melee damage on enchanted clothing.

I played as an Orc skooma addict once. That was fun. He was only allowed to own tattered rags. Everything else, he sold for money to buy more skooma. This meant that he did not use weapons, just his fists (I figured he was too far gone to cast even a simple spell). When he did not have any money, he'd attack the first person he saw and try to rob them. Any skooma dealers he came across were likely to be assaulted and robbed too. Wearing only tattered rags and using just his fists as weapons made this playthrough a bit tricky, but it was fun for a while. And punching a dragon to death was the most satisfying moment I have experienced in an Elder Scrolls game.

It really is. My favorite character was an unarmed (modded so it scaled, but was still worse than a good weapon) brawler who I loosely RP'd as an Enforcer for the Silver-Bloods in Markarth. I used VioLens and turned up Kill Cams to 75% and just bashed skulls in all day. She mostly murdered the hell out of Forsworn and other Bandits, but I did a couple of other major quests too.
