Serana Cure Self Quest Glitch
So I just finished the dawnguard dlc (i do have lots of mods, only one of which for serana that affects her appearance and nothing else) and decided to have serana cure herself. Now she continues to follow me around everywhere I go, and when I try to talk to her she just says "I'll see you when i'm done, for now I just need to do this". She's immune to any damage, and immune to the unrelenting force shout. I cannot ineract with her or make her do anything. Is there any way to fix this? Any console command or something?

Do you have a previous save before telling her to cure herself?

I do not. I usually never have problems like this so i delete old saves

You only got one shot to get it right, seems that you missed that.
You actually must do it correct, and you must be at Dawnguard castle.

As Eternie did say, load one old save. That you dont have. To bad.

Believe me we have all had that at one stage in playing games.

Most games recommend .... Save .... Save .... Save.

I would add that you use try to to make a hard save just inside a dungeon, castle or city so if something goes wrong you have a save at the start of it.

Also occassionally actually delete the quick save so that it doesn't have parts of all your travels around skyrim saved over and over in the same save.

This is a Bethesda game, always keep the last 200 saves. Always. /only half-joking.

I have 2000+ old saves :)
Nice to have when starting new games.

I found a solution. I went to castle dawnguard and uninstalled AFT. This forced her out of my follower spot and she went and got cured. What a relief, I thought I'd have a glitched Serana following me around all the time

Good Solution .... Hope it all keeps going well!
Edit: .. at one stage I wondered why Skyrim took a while to load ...
and discovered I had 20GB of save files ... so for me that was too many ... so I reduced that by a massive amount.
Each save gives a record of which part I'm up to and which mods I had installed.

Yeah. I think at one point I had over 300 save files, while I don't think that's 20gb it slowed my game by a lot

I had your same problem, I tried to fix as you said but the game remained broken, I found another way I write at least those who will have this problem can solve, after the start of the quest enter these codes in the console

Sorry for the resurrect, but I wanted to say thanks to you. This worked for me. So if another one had the same issue, that worked like a charm.
