Lakeview Manor: Bard thinks I'm Trespassing (Fix-ish/Discussion)
So, I'm sure many of you have the "trespassing in your own home" at night issue when living in lakeview or any other hand made home. I found out that it's my bard who thinks I'm trespassing. At 2:00 AM, unless he's performing an action (playing or using work station), he follows me and I can't wait or sleep.

Does anyone know how to fix the issue with this NPC so that it doesn't tag me as a trespasser?

Also, would this be an issue with me, the house, or the NPC it'self? Because when I fire the bard, (and he finally leaves), I don't get the error. But I might still have a trespassing status past 2:00 AM, I just don't know it because the bard is the only NPC that detects it.

Either that, or it realy is just a glitch with the bard, in which case, I'm wondering how I might go about detecting it, perhaps with consol commands?

If you have any relivent expirience and information about this glitch please post it below.

have you done the civil war questline? Often afterwards you have to regain your thane status after that questline. at least in my experience. 2k+ hours and I've only done the civial war questline twice.
oh yeah, I actually did recently finish that quest line. Would I need to go back to whiterun and get it? Lydia is staying in my home and is currently my housecarle, would that cause issues?
nope, lakeview is Falkreith

Ohhh yeah, that would make sense. Because, we got a new yarl, and I hadn't completed the "helpe people of falkreith" quest yet, but the new steward was still able to sell me the property, so technically, I shouldn't own that property, so if I complete the quest it might fix it. (And if that doesn't work, I could find a way to force complete it using commands or force my thane status if all else fails) Thanks so much, I'll post back here once I've done it, for now got a final to do.

Thanks a bunch tho, you're the most help I've gotten in this matter.

So, Ulfric won, let me tell you that now your houses belong to the people of Skyrim, for Skyrim Nords to be free, they must seize control of the means of production.

if u still need help call me up. yet the cival war questline has nothing really to do with it as im running straight from Helgen straight of to Falkreath doing the quest given, buying the land, building house popping over to Whiterun zip outside, kill dragon return a hero, get Lydia and go to Lakeview assign her as steward pay out for all the goodies and all is well. So its a glitch but some players game run different to others. So maybe the 1st reply might be right but doubt it.

I always assumed you lurked PCGF! :P Also, I've never experienced the glitch.. but I do use USLEEP, even when I didn't I never ran into it. Has to be a mod conflict. Of course, PCGF would know better than I would.. considering his hours. :P

lol cheers m8, I have never ran into this either, I have 10000 + hours heavly modded 255 maxed esm and esp mods +100 mods thats don't run on esm or esp plugins. But like I said other players games run different. If they are using a mod that changes the home in anyway then that might be the prob. But if no mod is being used that changes any of the scripts associated or spawn points with the house then its the game.
The best way to fix this is to strip the house bare, whatever you can grab or is not nailed down, take it.
open console and type coc qasmoke,
make a manual save not a quick save,
close Skyrim and deactivate the hearthfire esm and any associated esp's also mod esp's that are dependent on Hearthfire.
Start game and load the save in coc qasmoke,
repeat save as mentioned above and close Skyrim,
Reactivate Hearthfire and all mods dependant on Hearthfire,
start Skyrim and load manual save,
open console and type coc riverwood, then go back to Falkreath and buy the land again. either this way or start a fresh game. as that glitch is now embedded in your save file.

yeah, I mean it's not a game breaking thing, just annoying. I'll try some quest fiddling and stuff to see if I can fix it, if not I'll just live with it and make sure I keep my bard busy so he doesn't ask me to leave... that piece of ****. lol, thanks guys.

I'll be trying some stuff out now, I'll return if I get any progress.

Did you try going back to the Jarl's Stewart and see if you have the option to buy the land again?

Yeah, checked and I can't buy it. Still haven't completed the "Assist the People of Falkrieth" quest yet, and can't quite figure out how. maybe a glitch? Might be the problem, don't know.

once land is bought and it glitches no chance of buying the land again. do it the way i showed ya then retun to Falkreath steward and ask if the land is still for sale and it will be

Thanks, but I'm reeeaaaly not prepared to do that quite yet. If all else fails and I'm really desperate I might. But there's still options to explore.

I'm thinking it also might have to do with my wife, and the bard is only a result of that. I noticed that (when trespassing) if I wake my wife, I stop trespassing, but if I wake anyone else, it won't work. The moment my wife sleeps again I start trespassing and my bard starts following me around like a douch.

I think I might need to remary her? Because I have a mod installed that may have affected her.

I could either install some kind of divorce mod temporarily, then remarry and unload the mod to reset our marriage state if that's the issue, then have her move in again. I could also make a backup save, kill my dearest, then see if the glitche persists, if it does not, than the root of the problem may be with my wife. in which case we'll just renew our vows and see what happens. :P

Is the bard supposed to leave every night? Like, what's his regular behavior? Is he supposed to stay 24/7?
