Auriel's Bow and its arrows
so,how much strength does the dragonborn have to be able to fire an arrow directly into the sun?

last i checked its fairly difficult to do,though i could be wrong,i mean your character does fight dragons and eats their soul after they kill it,so obviously the same rules for our world arnt the same for Tamriel (who could of guessed?)

or is it just shooting an arrow into the sky and having the arrow's magic diffuse into the air or something?

Strength has nothing to do with it. You just need Ariel's bow, an arrow converted by Serana, she converts 20 at a time usually, and they must be elven arrows to convert. Then just point one of those arrows at the sun and fire. But never had a need for them, but they seemed to be created for me if I clicked to fast in conversations.

He's talking about physical strength in terms of realism. Like, how would one actually physically shoot an arrow in such a way that it achieves escape velocity and nearly instantly arrives at the sun.

I mean, obviously the real (and boring) answer is "It's magic, magic is a filthy cheater", but sometimes it's fun to discuss stuff like this. xD

I imagine the arrow gets fired at the sun gets infused with solar energy and explodes raining down energy, not actually getting to the sun though. The same can be said for Bloodcursed arrows but they corrupt that energy and block the sun's rays. If Auri-El did own that bow it would make sense he is a version of Akatosh which would mean the bow is an Aedric weapon.

so diffusing the magic of the arrows with the sun's energy?

makes as much sense as magic can,i guess

i like this explanation though, given it does make sense to me,moreso than someone being able to shoot an arrow directly into the sun from what is basically a fantasy version of earth and have it reach it in less than 10 seconds

honestly, the only time i ever even used one of the arrows was when i used a bloodcursed one near the Pelagia farm outside Whiterun to see how the farmers would react

Magic really is the explanation "cheat" as it can verify almost anything that is hard to explain. I often forget the sun burst ability even though I take the time to go back to the forgotten veil to get sunhallowed arrows. The little explosion they have is pretty good though, fire an arrow far away a few seconds pass then a small explosion goes off in the distance *Archery Skill Raised*

i do agree just chalking it up to just magic isnt very good, but when theres not much else that makes sense,or even as much sense as it could, may as well cut my losses while i can

science cant explain it given the way it happens and how quick it happens would go against the laws of physics (and maybe some other laws),and given its a fantasy world where magic is essentially the science of Tamriel (except the dwemer maybe),not much else is going to be able to explain it
