Can you have multiple characters?
I mean, you can, but i mean in a more less risky way to not overwrite a save slot and to be less messy... If not ingame, is there a mod maybe for that?

Like i.e. in MMORPG where you have a character slot and the specific save for that character so you con't overwrite it or something...

Mod Organizer has profiles which lets you have entirely different save folders. You don't even see saves from another profile in the menu so they never overlap.

if you want multiple characters you better get used to digging through loads of save files if you save frequently

if you hardly ever save it isnt going to be as bad,but the same thing still applies

i dont know about any mods for that though, but i'm sure at least one exists somewhere

So, that's a mod i guess?
Edit: I can't find it on the workshop, is it on Nexus?

Or you can open console type save "Name of save here" And now it's easier to sort through.

That isnt good. Here is a good way to make saves:

1st is autosave. It wall save for you when you change map cells. This is good.

2nd is Quick Save. I only use this when Im about to enter a dangerous/unknown area, or engage in a dicey battle.

3rd is Hard Save. Hit Esc, then click on Save. Do this every couple hours of gameplay or at the least, the end of every play session.

If you have an issue, you will now have multiple save slots to choose from. ;)

Usually I'll click ~ open up the command window and type

/savegame name1
/savegame name2
/savegame name3

Making 3 saves for the character named. Then keep rotating between the 3 overwriting the oldest one first. I keep 3 for just in case you find out you need to go back to an older save.

If you mean like in Dragon Age, no unfortunately you can't, but I was thinking about studing SKSE to create such a mod

You can have as many characters as you want. Don't rely on quicksaves and autosaves, use manual saves. Manual saves can be renamed to whatever you want, even without the use of the console, which I don't recommend (using the console can corrupt saves, no matter what you use it for). Just go into your Saves folder (located in My Documents-My Games-Skyrim) and you can rename any save file you want. Make a few hardsaves for each character and just rename them.

Over 3k hours in Skyrim and I haven't had a corrupt save due to using the console to name my saved games.

To use the command Save "yourname" in console dont ever corrupt one save.
Then it is some other thing that makes the save corrupt.
