Was original Skyrim take off of steam?
I was looking for the original skyrim so I can download the bundle with all the add-ons, not the legendary edition because I heard the mod support for it is wierd. I can't seem to find it on steam though, is anyone else having this problem?

Yeah, that was my biggest concern, I dunno why they'd do that

Simple, they are pushing the Special Edition so they removed the Legendary Edition and hid the original from searches to make it harder to find.
Better buy the original Skyrim before they completely remove it from the store.

Does this link work for others? I had the original on my wishlist so I appear to have access to the store page still, even though it's no longer searchable. http://store.steampowered.com/app/72850

Looks like the bundle is indeed removed. So if you want to get Skyrim and its DLC's, better wait for a good sale.
Oh great! I knew I should have brought bundle last year... was waiting for the summer sales to get it with a sweet discount.

Don't feel like buying the special edition after seeing their marketing tactics. *sigh*

I found the Legendary Edition on the Humble Bundle store but im worried that with it gone from Steam, the code they give me might not work (even tho the code they gave me for SE worked fine)

Remember that the original Skyrim was made far back in time... Because of mods, Skyrim never died, thus Bethesda decided to make some extra money off of it, by re-creating the game for the 64bit engine, thus more compatible for modern pc's.

Excluding mods (which is really a major factor),
Skyrim Special Edition is better than the original skyrim, in terms of hardware and performance.
Once "SkyrimSESE" come out, and the larger mods like SkyUI come out, people would start heading for Special Edition (Which is why people still play the original).

Workshop may come out, although I doubt it. Even if it does, I prefer using the nexus. If you still wish to play mods that were never converted, then you can convert it yourself. Some mods out there are compatible with SkyrimSE, while others require porting through the Creation Kit.

So, special edition is the better deal?

guys could you help me?>
i bought TES SKYRIM a long time ago by a pre-order when it just released.
it was Special edition with all DLC which would be sold later.
So now It is gone! all DLS are lost and the game doesn't work with those saves where im in myself builded house with all my game inventories! Although all the achievementes are opened but TES - DLC's don't recognise that.
P.s. Im Russian so my apologies for my language if smth.s wrong

depends. i personally still prefer "oldrim" (and i even got SE for free), while others seem to like SE more.

you want to mod the hell out of skyrim and get the best possible look? then get LE. you want a more stable game out of the box? then get SE.

on steam, SE is the better deal (especially since LE won't go on sale anymore.) but there are other sites, which still sell legit, cheap LE keys...so it's really your choice.

What exactly is your issue? Many of us, me included, don't play Special Edition because we've played Standard/Legendary Edition of Skyrim and have a lot of mods already, but if you've never played Skyrim before then you won't be losing any mods. Special Edition can't use mods from Standard Skyrim, but it has a lot of mods for itself already. Not as much as Standard, but the overall stability of it is appealing. So when you heard mod support is weird on Special Edition, it doesn't mean Special Edition doesn't have any mods.

So basically to shorten all that, Special Edition does have mod support and is more stable, but Standard has more and better mods, though less stable. Special Edition also has better visuals supposedly, but that's fixable with mods if you play Standard anyway
I honestly find Skyrim more stable for me than Special Edition, as Special Edition was really buggy for me.

Just wanted to add something here but as an owner of the base skyrim game I was still unable to buy the DLC because I couldn't find it in the search results - hiding the older game from search results to sell the remaster is disgusting.

They're hiding Vanilla skyrim so you have to buy the 60$ special edition.

No, they are hiding it for the same reason you cannot go to a new car dealer and order a car made 7 years ago.
