Ebony blade not getting stronger?

Basically what i do is, recruit a mercenary (Which makes them friendly towards you) Kill two of them, then maphala speaks to me but it still only does 25 damage, idk what's going on so please help!

Do you have any mods, please list full load order. Have you used any console commands, particularly relating to the Ebony Blade/the quest to get it?

First question, i only have 9 mods as of now, and all they do is add like 5 untalkable characters to solitude so no. I also have a mod that could do it, which is a mod that adds "Travelers Of Skyrim" Which ads mercenaries, merchants, et.c, and no i used no such thing as commands.

I dunno, never figured out the Ebony blade and usually sell them off.

After some research, it appears that the Ebony Blade's actual damage doesn't increase. Instead, the sword's enchantment (Absorb Health) is what gets stronger.
