Is the ebony dagger in Helgen real?

I saw in a Reddit post that after you return to Helgen Keep, you can find an Ebony Dagger. The person was level 8 when they found it. I'm level 15, and I've searched for ages without luck.
It's supposed to be somewhere in Helgen, but I'm not sure if it's real or not. Is it possible it's real?

I found it the first time, while trying to escape with Rolf in one of the locked dungeons cells, hidden by straw. I have looked on subsequent playthroughs while trying to escape Helgen but couldn't find it there again. But never went back into lower levels as a second attempt, just cleared out surface.

Good to know it is real. The question is, why doesn't it appear most of the time then?

I believe it was patched out with the last patch. I have found evidence on the web that it used to be there, but not for a long time.

One time in Helgen, after killing that female Captain, I went in the direction she came from. It goes into the Captain of the guard's area. There I found a OP Sword with tremendous power. I didn't have any mods like that so I have no idea where it came from. In later plays it wasn't there.

As to the above posts, this was a couple of years ago, so the patch was at least that far back. I believe it was an advanced weapon given to those who searched everything, so in the beginning only available to those, and to those in the know.
