Cross-platfom with friends?

Hi, noob here. I bought this game for my son to be able to play with his school friends. We are using Steam and they are on Nintendo Switch. I bought it after reading about cross-play all over their Twitter account and some article. I am starting to wonder if it's not!

But when I am trying to connect, it send me to the Steam friends. How to connect Switch friends to Steam?

Some posts in this forum, but no one saying how to do it.

I've been trying to do a search for this and it seems that it's crossplay in the sense that your opponents can be from other consoles once the option switched on. Teaming up with your friends may not be possible.

I'd send in a ticket to 2K Support to be sure.

Don't think you can invite friends from different platforms. You can however queu at the same time in online unranked or co-op to be able to play against eachother or with eachother. Probably works pretty well cause online is quite dead.
