I can't find PlayGrounds 1 anywhere

You already know about the whole "grindy microtransactions" fiasco, which really turned me off from this game for personal reasons.

However I heard the original game, NBA PlayGrounds, was fantastic, so I was looking to pick that one up.

I can't find it anywhere.

I've looked with help from my friends for hours but the store page, the steam forum, even the eShop version of the xBox and switch release are just gone.

The PS4 site oddly enough still looks like its purchaseable there, but the fact still remains 2K is removing this game from outlets.

EDIT: I tested it and the PS4 Link doesn't work either.

I should have expected a tactic as scummy as this from 2K. This just upsets me they'd make such a manipulative product then chokehold us into buying it. Sure, I don't need to buy this, but I wanted to try out this series. But if this is the new standard I just never will.

Can confirm. You don't need to spend any money to have a good time and be competitive. If you want a specific player, you can grind it out for him, but you don't have to. Just from playing a bit, I've gotten enough for a handful of packs. I have Clyde Drexler, Wes Unseld, Shaq, and some other good players. I'm now saving up my currency to unlock Kemba. I'm about halfway there. Hasn't taken that long.

You can unlock the entire roster for 9.99 so how could you even complain about grinding in the first place.

You can unlock the entire roster for 9.99 so how could you even complain about grinding in the first place.

thats 1/5 of a work day for me, I payed the 10$ and also get the future players so I dont have to be grinding matches to try to get something, now I only grind for clothes

Can relate to some of the things OP and Piggy said, but I'll have to stand beside the 2K critics here. I don't like where they're taking the grinding, and for that matter, how is it that you keep repeating unlocking is faster in Playgrounds 2 than in Playgrounds? I just started playing yesterday (currently 4 season games played and won, and a 3-point contest), so I'll give you that if you can translate it into numbers. What I really feel is that packages take longer to be earned on Playgrounds 2 than the first one. The posibility to unlock a specific player is very welcomed since getting an all-repeated package after package on the first one was a pain in the a... If what it takes to "unlock faster" is to have a passive player 2 on exhibition mode in order to get a steal, a score and therefore streak, I'm sorry but it's a totally broken mechanic.

Seeing your problem, I have sought the original NBA Playgrounds here on Steam.

I cannot find it, in the catalogue of games in the Store. But I do own the game, myself, and thus have access to its Community page, at steampowered and there I find a link back to a Store page for NBA Playgrounds.

Does anyone know how to buy the first game and the DLC? It's pretty ridiculous they dropped a game that was only a year old. 2K are just money grabbers.

Even worse if you have the first game and now can't even buy the DLC...
