Cheese doesn't always attach to mousetraps

Trying to get the "Snap!" achievement done, but sometimes I go to put it onto a mousetrap I have available and it doesn't accept it and in turn, gets rid of it. Very annoying that is, wish it just wouldn't vanish like that.

Edit: And by I mean vanish, I put the cheese onto the mousetrap, but sometimes, it just doesn't accept it and falls off the screen as if I didn't even attach it in the first place. Is it really that finicky to attach it for anyone else?

Still no luck, cheese is constantly falling off the mousetraps, very rarely does it seem like it even wants to attach to them. Makes getting the 50 mice more tedious than need be.

Are you sure you take cheese and not cake ?

Yeah, seems like I have to actually click on the trap itself. I mean, I was trying to place it on top of it, but I guess that wasn't working for me, so I tried clicking on the trap with the cheese and it's working. So hey, getting there with the 50 rats being caught. Now if only the butler would actually give me cheese more often XD
