Mayflash GC Controller Help

So I'm trying to use my Mayflash 4-port Gamecube controller adapter to play Slap City andt it works when both USB cables are plugged in and it is set to PC mode, the problem is though is that it detects each of the first two ports as an xinput as well as a Gamecube controller input. This means when I use only one controller, both the first player and second player are controlled by that one controller. I have tried following the instruction of only plugging in the black USB and using the Wii U mode but the game doesn't recognize any controllers. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Don't know if it's the same problem but my GC controller was being picked up as an XInput device until I went into Steam's Controller settings and turned off Generic Gamepad Support, then it seemed to work. Only problem is it says there's 8 GC controllers plugged in instead of 4. Beyond that though, it's coming up as a GC controller and works like usual. If you haven't already, try that. Worth a shot.
