Late, but frame assist essentially let's you perform an action the moment you're able to.
Like say you want to jump during an action but you press the button 3 frames before you technically can jump.
Frame assist allows you to jump even when you press the input... let's say up to 5 frames early depending on what number frame assist is set to!
If you feel frame assist is throwing you off you can disable it. Also you can hold the clutch button so you can dash by merely moving!
