Rigid Force Alpha

Works under Linux now (and possibly Mac)
With the latest Proton (Steam Play) beta, which has to be enabled in the Steam client, the game now works flawlessly ! :-)

Tested with the latest NVIDIA drivers and a distribution based on Ubuntu 18.04 (Mint). :-)

That's awesome news! Thanks for checking it out and letting us know, bidinou! :)

Yes ! Looking forward to my baby's nap to test it thoroughly ;)
Hopefully, maybe the game can eventually get in the official Steam Play compatibility list, to be visible from the store as Linux & Mac compatible...
Cheers & keep up the great work !

Oh, by the way, is it possible to optionally disable VSync to try to reduce the input lag ? It does help in some cases... I noticed I could get a lower latency with no tearing when enabling "force compositing pipeline" in the Nvidia drivers AND disabling VSync in the games...
Also, there's the GSync/Freesync technology...
Cheers !

We're going to check out if it works on Mac and if possible, we'll then try to get on the official support list. :)

Also thanks for the VSync feedback, I'm going to check it out. Currently there's no option to toggle it, but I'll take look if it can be implemented with the next update.

Have fun playing!

Thank you :-)
ATM you have to enable the Proton 3.16-4 beta and explicitely tick the option to use this version for all games.
Users should add their reports here : https://www.protondb.com/app/724390
I've just sent a new one with the "platinum"rating.

That's great, thank you very much! :)

BTW, (using the latest MESA / drivers) I noticed the game has actually way lower requirements than I initially thought. I can play smoothly in 720p (by lowering some details) with a simple Intel HD 630. That's great news as far as I'm concerned, as this game, along with PAWARUMI, was the only reason for me for keeping a discrete GPU.

Hello ! Really sorry for annoying you as I know it's not a supported platform but... I've not been able to play the game for a few weeks / months. For some reason, everything works perfectly when no controller is plugged (keyboard playing). But as soon as a USB controller (like a very standard Logitech pad or an arcade controller) is plugged, I cannot selelct anything anymore in the menu. I can move the cursor with the mouse but I cannot press any button (neither with the controller nor with mouse/kbd).

The controllers work perfectly in all other games including demanding Windows titles running with Proton (i.e. Witcher 3).

Any idea by any chance ? Of course I tried to reinstall, delete all config file (and disable steam sync).

I hope you game wlll get the deserved recognition. Hope to hear from you soon !

Cheers !

Hi bidinou,

That's a strange problem. Have you already tried to activate and configure your controller in Big Picture mode (as explained here)?

If this doesn't help, it would be interesting to see what happens when you deactivate all controllers in Big Picture mode. In that case, the game will fall back to its originally implemented control method, just like before the 1.0.0 update.

Thanks for the reply !
Hmm, actually it turns out this was the other way around.
I've just got it to work properly by ticking "xbox configuration support" (my logitech gamepad is apparently recognized as a 360 gamepad).
Cheers ! :-)

Okay, glad it works for you! :)

Hey Boofette,
Sorry, apart from the main menu, there's no mouse support. But of course you can play the game comfortably using keyboard or gamepad, and it shouldn't be too hard to get used to it. :)

Glad you like the game so much! :) Yep, gamepad and controller are the same. You just plug it in via USB, start up the game and you're good to go. We usually recommend a wired Xbox One controller for the game, because it works best without further configuration, but you can also use many other controllers (any generic XInput/DirectInput gamepad, Xbox 360, PS4 or even the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller). The latter ones just have to be activated in Steam's Big Picture mode, though.

It should work just fine! Just make sure to properly connect it to your PC. Here are the official instructions: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-on-windows/accessories/connect-xbox-one-controller-to-pc

How is it working on the Steam Deck? It sounds like it should be a homerun but, it's a smaller screen so I wonder if some elements may end up too small.
