Can't launch game

When I try and launch the game I get this error:

I have uninstalled and reinstalled three times. I've deleted the Steam cache between each uninstall/reinstall. Nothing is working. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Nope, I still can't get it to download correctly.

So, I finally got it working. The problem was Windows Defender, but it actually removes /quarantines the file while downloading, so even before it moves PM5.exe to it's designated folder. That's also why your game folders are empty after downloading.

So to get it working, you need to add an exception to both the Princess Maker 5 folder AND the ~/steamapps/downloading folder.

That did the trick for me.

Hey guys. I'm having the same problem and this didnt fix it. I made sure to exclude both folders and nothing has shown up in the quarantine. When I go to download this http://prntscr.com/kbiqm5 comes up. 98mb. which is only the direct x folder.
