House of Velez - part 1

Absolute Fustration
I'm at the beginning where the Mannequin stops with the light in the corridor door and you have to run to the right to unlock the door to get into the safe room. I do the heart beat thing, Hold LT, Y and B a bar comes up, wait till it gets into the middle press RT to keep it in the middle. I've done this many times now and I still get caught. The white ring around her doesn't disappear and the heart still beats.

I have restarted this game twice I manage to get past that part by going out the door to the left and coming back in waiting for the light to come on, run past, unlock the door and enter the safe combination. In the safe you have to do the exact same thing but it doesn't work, which lead me to restart.

So what am I doing wrong? Hold LT, Y and B and wait till it's in the centre (the bright white dot) to slow your heart beat. I've tried holding B to sneak past, hold crouch as she walks past and still get caught. Am I meant to be pressing another button along with the others?

I've gone over my two hours trying over and over again. So am I doing something wrong or is my whole game bugged that it's pointless to carry on? Also full-screen doesn't work it's just a little box right in the centre of my monitor. So I have to drag out the window.

Your ability to suppress your heartbeat might be bugged. This sounds all too familiar to me. And in my case, I believe what bugged it was me messing around with it before the first tutorial prompt that teaches you how to use it. But starting the game anew fixed that. When you say you've restarted the game do you mean closed it and booted it up again or actually started a new game from the beginning?

It doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong, it's just that it might be bugged just like it happened to me too. Just start the game again from the beginning (it won't take long getting back there anyway), and make sure you don't mess with the heartbeat suppression until after you get the prompt for it and hopefully that does the trick. When the white ring around you disappears, that's when you know it actually works properly.

As for going fullscreen, I don't quite remember how that works, but if I recall correctly, pressing either F1 or F2 (or even F1+F2) I believe will do the trick but I'll have to recheck all of this later as it's been a while since I've played this game. Either way, hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply. I'll try that. When I restarted, I just started a new game and tried again.

Alright your fix worked, thank you. So what I did was, I didn't do anything until I got to the room with the lights turning off an on. But I'm shocked to see how short it was. I part 2 longer?

Part 2 is a bit longer but I suggest you don't rush through the game. Explore and collect the notes that you find. You'll get most of the lore through them and something more that I won't go into detail about to avoid spoilers.

Also I just went back and played around for a bit and F1+F2 is indeed for full screen. Hope you enjoy the game and have fun!
