Question About Part 2 Death Scenes
One of the things I absolutely love about part one is how awesome and realistic the death scenes are. Everything from eyes rollup in Lily's head, to twitching, etc... The attention to detail was amazing. Great job! I just want to know if the death scenes are going to be twice as good in the 2nd one and are there going to be a lot of them?

Also, my wife thinks they are sexy (the death scenes). They are the best we have ever seen in any videogame (and yes weve played mortal kombat x). -Just wanted to add that to my question

Well... Part 1 was actually pretty tame compared to what's going on in Part 2 right now. They will be much worse this time around, and there will be many more since the game will be about four times the size of Part 1.
At the moment I am in the process of wrapping up the first area of Part 2, and I believe it has about 15 death scenes attached to it already.

I'm glad to know you guys are enjoying it so far! Part 1 was a good way to test the waters. After seeing what people want, Part 2 is aiming to be every bit of that and more!

Thats awesome! Yeah man you nailed Lily's facial expressions in those death scenes. AAA developers like the people from Tomb Raider series need to take note with what you have accomplished. People dont want to see scenes cut away so fast you can barely see what is happening, they want to see the whole thing. Thats why horror movies exist. Whether someone getting strangled to death with no blood, or ripped apart, or eatin by a wild animal, if you cut to the next scene, you are basically telling adult horror fans "this is too violent, you dont need to see this". The ABSOLUTE worst thing they can do is this and its a pattern that happens OVER and OVER. House of Velez is great because it is a horror themed game and it does not stray away from that. Also, It was soooo realistic looking as well. At first I was like "are they going to show it" then I saw her die, eyes rolling up in her head, getting ripped apart, twitching, etc... like fatality after fatality... I was like "AWWW DAMN they did it!". Thats why you have so many viral videos of people playing your game. Its brutal and not afraid to show everything. Sorry for the long comment, but I seriously cannot cannot compliment you enough. Keep it up man and you will go far, I know it.

I'm happy you appreciate the work that was put into it.
There are many reasons why different games and movies won't show an entire scene like these. If the scene is too graphic it can be viewed as distasteful by some audiences. Others also believe the art of subtlety is the better approach to make a scene more effective, as the implication is more disturbing than the execution. Some audiences even believe too much gore is a sign of laziness for the sake of shock value in horror.

There's a ton of different schools of thought on the matter, but House of Velez is about as straight forward and not subtle as it can be. And that's the way I wanted it to be. While its execution may not be quite as artistic as a AAA title, in that it leaves nothing to the imagination, it is outside the norm. And I think that's why it is appreciated.

The game over cut scenes are pretty great. Good work.

The deaths in these games are among the best I have ever seen. The facial expressions, the screams, the attention to detail, the sounds of bones crunching, blood spilling, organs being ripped out, flesh tearing, i can go on and on. Thank you for making such amazing content
