Inspiration from Metal Gear Solid V?

Look at this cutscene from this game. (at 29:35 minutes.)

And then look at this scene from MGSV.

Both protagonists are scarred.

Both protagonists are pretty much commanders or leaders.

The lighting is pretty similar.

Both scenes are set in the ocean.

And both protagonists do a little speech.

Also at 46:33 the cinematography is eerily similar to MGSV

He literally thanks Hideo Kojima in the credits, so yes, Metal Gear (as a series) has been an inspiration for this travesty.
