Stolen Assets: Compiled
No credit for FireArms:Source(house was stolen)[Found by /id/yukarithealpaca]
First person running/sprinting animation stolen from Payday 2
L4D2 Blatant ripoffs[i.redditmedia.com]
Essentially ALL of Valve's .vpk files [i.imgur.com]

Soldier models taken from Unreal Engine's Asset store, without crediting the modeler. -While not being "stolen", this shows that they much rather have others do the work for them, and not do much by themselves.
A lot of models from FUSE model packs
Vortigaunt enemies ripped right out of black Mesa.[i.imgur.com]
Car model stolen from S.T.A.L.K.E.R[i.imgur.com](Credit to Psycho)
GMOD Tower assets confirmed by developer to be used without permission. While I do not have any clarification if these are being used in the current build of the game, this still shows that they steal content without notifying or asking for permission from the developers; A noteworthy piece of information[images-ext-2.discordapp.net]

Stolen from Black Mesa:
-Lighting fixtures
-Turret mount in the mountain area
-Chairs
-Some sound effects
(Credit to Austincherry)

Literal complete ripoffs of HL2 maps
-Ravenholm graveyard
-City 17 train station and a lot of city sections.
-Highway section stolen
-Rebels are just retextured combines

Any more, reply and ill add to the list
If you have pictures for any of these items listed, please post them.

There were also many L4D2 assets that were used, however considering most VALVE assets are okay to use to begin with I'd take this with a pinch of salt. Still doesn't exclude a lot of things.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does owning a commercial license for Source give you carte blanche to pick whatever content you want out of their games and package them up in a standalone format? Last I checked, it doesn't. To my understanding it at the most gives you carte blanche with the base Half-Life 2 content, allowing you to essentially repackage the models, sounds, textures, animations, etc and use them standalone (so the person buying the content doesn't need a Source game installed on their system already).

I'm basing all of this off of Garry's Mod, which to my knowledge is the only commercially sold modification of the Source engine. And it follows all of these rules: only the base HL2 content is standalone. If you want anything from the episodes, TF2, Portal, L4D/L4D2, whatever, you need to have those games purchased and installed on your computer in order for gmod to use the content from them.

This is actually okay. Not debug tools, just run of the mill leftovers from Source SDK when compiling a Source mod.

Alright, thank you, I'll remove it.

The rebels just being reskinned combines isn't "stolen assets" if the devs had the lisence to use those assets, it's just lazy. The HL2 maps, though... yeah that's pretty sketchy.

It's not proprietary, is what I'm getting at, it's just effortless retexturing.

My bad, will fix.

I stared at the picture from another thread that the KF2 magnum was being compared to, and doesn't the magnum used in HtFM have ridges on the chamber? The ones in KF2 (the linked picture) DO NOT have those. It's unlikely that they are the same.

it's worth mentioning that they bought license from Valve to use all of their work, so essencially, they could use the HL2 maps. I tried finding the post made by BM3, but the forums are a complete clusterf*uck just like the game, thus it's hard to confirm or deny that.

There is no documentation from Valve that I have seen that states that developers or companies have complete access to Valve's assets in a package deal with the engine purchase. My understanding would be that they sell it to them with the base hl2 files so that users do not need to already own another source game to be able to play this.

Aren't the ones in KF2 smooth chambered? The one from the screenshot provided in another thread showed ridges on the chamber of the magnum in HDtF. Unless there is another varient of the skin in KF2, I don't think that's where it's from.
