Pregnant underground = stuck?

I did the quest where you give the wine to Bally or what his name is underground in Grolido and after all the scenes Meltys got pregnant.

As far as I know the only way I have up to the surface to get the hospital to give birth is up the ice pillar with the yetis, but it wouldn't let me enter any areas with enemies while pregnant so I couldn't get to the surface.

So as far as I can tell I was stuck because falling down the whirlpool is a one way road and there was no other way back up. So it seems to be a game-breaking situation with no resolution but loading - which I was thankfully able to do, but some people might have to delete their save file and completely start over.

I loaded and redid the scene 2 more times (got pregnant again the 2nd time), and was able to proceed as usual.

Just thought I'd mention this; figured it'd be useful.

You shouldn't be stuck in that situation because you can just go back to the surface using the underground tower. If you can upload a save file where you feel like you were in a stuck situation, I can double check for you to see if there was a bug or not.

You're exactly right. I checked and yeah you can go to the surface using the Subterranean Tower.

It doesn't let you go in the tower because of monsters but that is a seperate option and it works.
