The heads with the mouth open on the ground, what the hell do they do?

I think I had something happen ONCE with them cause the voice said sacrifice or something along those lines accepted but I still have no damn idea on the point of the is, I've lured mutants nearby and killed them but nothing, I'm all for something to figure out but it would be nice if SOMETHING seemed to hint at what the hell they do.

No idea, had one give me a free health potion, but i've got no clue wtf I did for it.

They allow you to trade an item you have for an item of better value (sometimes money instead). Press and hold the item use button to drop your item into the mouth.

Well there isn't really anything that teaches players that at all really other than to give Billy his crap. Nothing about that thing makes me think 'give it an item'.

haha yeah, the game is very poor with explanations. I only found out what they do from a reddit thread on RAD.
