People frequently have the option to pirate games they like for free, but volunteer not to, instead buying them because they like said game/company, & think they deserve it. People's buying decisions often aren't logical. They're not formed on the basis of whether they need something or not, but whether the perception of an item is worth it emotionally to them.
I mean, how much satisfaction would a very cold beer/drink give you on a very hot day, when you're very tired & thirsty? Probably a lot, but even though you could no doubt afford it, & really enjoy it, most people would still be downright insulted if you tried to charge them $20 for a single drink. & most people would also feel stupid wasting that kind of money on it, even if the cost itself is so trite relatively as to be meaningless in the grand scheme of things.
In this sense, it's a case of ego. People are curious to see just how terrible the game really is (I know I am, almost to the point I considered buying it lol), but they also really don't want to feel stupid or 'scammed' buying something that feels like a terrible waste of money. People's sense of morality is heavily tied into the concept of buying in this regard, they really don't like giving money to people that don't 'deserve' it, so much so that they won't even part with a single $1 if they feel the the person asking is fake or lazy, etc; even becoming mad at such a small monetary request.
In short, I don't think the majority of those torrenting will be a sincere fanbase....lol.
Besides, I don't think asmon's crowd would go that low as to waste space with DEI infected game
Maybe hasan's crowd would do that, but not asmon's one
And i'm sure with his audience, there could be a couple of people that were curious.
Hasan's audience is too busy sniffing glue to play video games.
