buying game, having to then buy the pieces to put in the game AND now buy seats for your campaigns.... uninstalling, not worth.

You don't need to buy pieces for your campaign if you're not using Hero Forge??? Talespire is cheap as it is and if you don't want seats just screen the map on discord.

Talespire has one of the least money hungry devs behind it
I think that the option to "buy" seats is good, but I don't quite understand exactly how much these additional seats cost? This will save some of my friends money to play in my campaign, but why should I, an owner of the full program, have to shell out extra money just to have more players?

The best option overall is to screen the map to Discord. This gives my players more options for viewing the map, and the ability to discuss the campaign. There are 6 of us who play, with one of us being GM. Currently there are 2 of us who enjoy being both player, and Master. Talespire is very good, and if "extra seats" are actually free, then this will be great because there are people who want to play, but don't have the money to shell out for the full copy of Talespire.

I'm not sure some of these people are understanding. You don't need seats if your players already have a copy or you stream it on discord. Seats are an option for a GM who want's players to be able to drop into their game at no cost to the players. That's all. It's not a cash grab, its a way to get more players in your game cheaper than the players needing to purchase or the GM needing to gift a copy. It's an option that only benefits everyone (it's actually worse for the devs because it let's more people use the software for less money).

I think the extra seats are quite expensive, but beyond that, they are a great addition!

Considering the insane compatibility with systems like HeroForge and Symbiotes, and now user-made models as well, having cheaper options to play with your friends is such a kind gesture! I honestly believe Talespire was already worth the full price for a whole party, but I understand that that's simply not possible for everyone. Especially when you run more than one party as a DM.

I'm stoked for the future of Talespire, and grateful for the online environment that has allowed me to work on my hobbies in such a fun and creative way.

Why would you have to buy pieces? All the pieces are free.
There are hundreds of free minis built in, and literally thousands of community made ones
If you meant the fact we have heroforge integration, then that's not us. We make no money from what they do and using them is 100% optional.
It sounds like someone is pretending to be us, or we've massively failed in explaining ourselves, either way if you have time to share a link to where that was said, it would be super helpful. Cheers!

The good news is it's gonna be poor wording on my part. Seats are 100% optional. You can ignore them, and they will never affect your game. Anyone can get talespire at the same price as before. Seats are an optional tool that, for some, will make their style of play cheaper.
We also do not sell pieces. All the pieces we make come free with TaleSpire, and there are thousands of more community-made pieces that are all free. We do provide a way for heroforge customers to bring in things they paid heroforge for, but we make no money from that, and you never have to be a heroforge customer to use TaleSpire.
Thanks for posting and feel free to ping me with any questions. I'd love to clear up anything I can.

Good question. As I've caused some confusion with this post, I'll start by saying that no one has to use seats; it's an additional optional feature. You can safely ignore it, and it will never cost you anything.

Seats provide a cheaper way of bringing people who don't own TaleSpire into your campaigns. The price of seats depends on where you live. But a pack of 4 seats is roughly half the cost of buying four copies of the game.

However, if you folks are already playing on full copies, you don't need seats.

Also, if a party needs seats, anyone with a full copy of the game can provide them. Not just the GM. But again, it's not mandatory.

Did that help at all? I'm happy to answer more questions so feel free to keep them coming!

I don't know how you dont see this as a W, normally people have to buy the full game to even be a player so this is just better especially for the GM and you also don't have to buy pieces everything is free (unless you mean heroforge which is a separate company and product anyway). Uninformed and L take, this is only a good thing.

This is great for getting more players into campaigns, and I'm all for it. Out of curiosity, are current full version owners going to have any "seats" to offer players from the outset? Or will *all* seats be purchased by owners after the fact? Regardless, this is pretty massive win for the on-boarding process.

Also, is there any chance we could get a fix for bear traps not being able to be opened? They have an open and closed state, but there's no way to "reset" the traps from their default closed position to the "active" position when i right click the prop in game.
