Steam is always a better choose than Epic.
Don't give your money to Tencent anymore.
i mean i prefer steam its just that i got it on epic games for a very cheap price, didnt know much about it, played it and fell in love and now i cant have that experience again
No issues on my end, maybe try and raise it with them and have them at least refund it back to you if they wont allow you to access it.
Well, I had to learn this the hard way, that buying cheaper elsewhere is not always the best option. Like, in this case, being able to access the game when it gets removed from the store.
Luckily for me, I had this game installed on my disk and, for some strange reason, I can still access it by directly running the game executable, even though the launcher labeled it as unavailable.
I opened a ticket with Epic before opening this thread. They are certainly taking their sweet time with this issue. But it's no wonder that this issue caught them with their pants down, their launcher is almost the same as it was when they launched the store. Of course, I asked for a refund at that time but, apparently, they are trying to bring back the game.
I didn't think that I would say this, but Epic is indeed a bad option.
It's insane how far behind EPIC is in almost everything when you look at it. When they first started doing their free games thing their system didn't always register an actual license for it and even apply a record in the system when claimed.
It was just a crap soot if you would get a license and receipt of redemption. If you went to re-download it later on and they system didn't properly record it at time of redemption it would just tell people they did not own it and had to buy it but at least they were only the free games.
Some people had dozens of games they claimed for free that were never recorded while others had pretty much all of them recorded. It was such a mess and I remember customer support being useless.
This is the first time I am hearing where it happened with a paid game and to so many people as well, it's the most important thing to get right as a store front, but they are not customer focused, they are in too much of a rush just to beat Steam and putting money into claiming exclusives and Fortnite, they need to invest in making a better launcher for their customers.
Hopefully they find a way to reapply it to your account since they have no right to take it away from you like that, you have documentation you bought it so they need to do the right thing.
Glad to hear you still have it and can at least still play it, definitely keep a backup of it since you never know.
Thank you for the comments.
