Lagh Blade
Just slayed Tara a few times (after the update) and I am wondering. Am I missing something or is Lagh Blade really pathetic? Tara is quite hard to kill in my opinion and the sword is really not even worth it.

Attack +10
Poise Damage +65
Block Absorption +40

It has lower Attack than Vigilant Sword..

Sorry we will fix the text in the next update. Lagh Blade can increases its attack through killing enemies.

Lagh Blade increase damage while you kill a monster. The more the powerful.

is the increase permanent?

yes, it will be the most powerful weapon, but you have to kill a lot...

Does the damage boost come all at once, or only after you reach a certain threshold? I've killed ~20 monsters with it and its damage hasn't gone up at all. Obviously 20's not that much, but is it something like 100 monster kills per 1 point of attack?

So in NG+ with the Lagh Blade. I killed a regular pitchfork guy on Maye Bridge 6 times before my Attack went up 0.1 - so I thought ok it's gotta be based on how many number of guys you kill, or there's like a value assigned to each type of enemy that fills a hidden bar type deal. So I went to sewer estuary 1 and killed the red rolling ball twice, as well as 14 other enemies before it went up another 0.1, so not entirely sure. But it seems it's going to take a ♥♥♥♥ load of enemies for this to be good.
Edit: Also worth noting is that the damage value on the weapon itself does not increase, but in the stats list on the right.

Oh, ok. I was just looking at the damage value on the weapon itself. I'd expect that I still won't get great returns out of it, but I definitely won't be looking in the wrong place.

As far as balance goes, these things are always tricky. I wish it started with a higher damage, but since its damage scales (even if slowly) it will eventually be strong. I probably won't use it now though, because on NG+ it seems like it will take forever to make it worth using.

I also wish it had the sweet poison blade beam attack that Tara uses.

So, is there a limit to the Lagh blade or will I keep grinding it forever? :D

It seems to be tied only to the number of kills. Doing a run of the scarlet ocarina to the right (killing basically everithing exept the boss) grants about 0.3~0.4 per run. It also doesn't seem to have a increase in the required kills to trigger the increase in damage at the moment (I just overtook a vanguard blade)
edit: it seems to be a 0.01 increase per kill

Use hand of shadow to grab him, then hand of glory to attempt to steal. If doesn't work, go back and touch the owl statue, try again. I got it fairly quickly doing that.

I think they boosted the drop rate a little too much with the fix, or I got really lucky.
After using the hand of shadow and hand of glory to steal items until I had stolen 20 items, 7 of those were Lagh Blades. Not complaining since they sell for a lot though.
ChonkyRat Oct 22, 2020 @ 7:27pm
took 18 tries stealing and killing (for xp) lol
