If had to rate this game it'd be HK > RotN > Vigil > DC.
Many thanks. I am not sure why I couldn't get into RotN. I found it boring and underwhelming very early. When I watched the gameplay on youtube it seemed awesome for some reason. I haven't yet played Salt and sanctuary. I was told it is somewhat like Dark Souls which I adore. I haven't played Rogue either. Dead Cells - I was sent all the way back to the beginning every time I died. I found it very frustrating.
Thank you very much. It's very helpful.
I actually found this game to be closest to Bloodstaind RotN. Just in the way it plays. When you die you do lose any progress and re load from a save point/Checkpoint Statue. Which honestly are very generous through this game so if you are used to Dark Souls that will not be an issue lol.
Also, if you love or even liked Dark Souls totally check out Salt and Sanctuary it even has much replay potential. As with Dark Souls you can make a build that practically puts you in Easy mode or one that Slaps you in the face each time you load up lol.
I understand the Struggle of Dead Cells. It really turned me off of a potentially great game :( I would not have minded losing my gear at all but having to start fresh each time killed my soul lol.
Deaths Gambit really is not too bad some of it can be meh at times but if it's on sale you guys should grab it for a quick one and done.
Personally I liked it. It's a bit rough around the edges (*cough*translation*cough*) but it's a good game with solid mechanics (that resemble Bloodstained a lot), great music and a cool ambiance. If you are really unsure about it, you might wanna purchase it, test it for two hours and see if you get a feel for the controls and the setting and, if not, refund it.
No. There' much more dialogue (that you read) and more of a story (I couldn't follow it) in Vigil but the game is shorter. S&S has much deeper character customization, more weapons, and the game is longer and has more bosses.
The game is firmly a metrovania with identical mechanics to Bloodstained / DG and others.
Being honest, you probably will not enjoy it.
