Baptismal candle placement

Hey y'all, I tried placing the baptismal candle from the your grandfather's lockbox on all 6 prompted windowsills and then proceeded to go to bed, but the speech box says that I need it properly placed before sleeping. Is my game bugged? Would really love to progress past the first night.

there is a photo or some clue which window you are to use but I believe it was the right-side bedroom window. You might need to close the other shutters before going to bed.

The photo shows the middle window. I tried with both glass part open and closed (you can individually interact with wooden shutters and glass windows). Nothing is working...also the picture is super unclear, it seems like the left (from inside) wooden shutter is open but even like that it's not working.

EDIT: my bad I was doing it all the time in MY bedroom but actually the window in the picture is one floor lower...thus grandpa's bedroom
