Remote access to game and Ip

Hello, I was thinking about buying this game. However I heard the DEV can remote access your game and IP. Does he do any maclious with this? And is this even true?

the game collects your ip in a way to only provide you with internet access within the game browser so you can actually search up real life links and they will work

The dev made it seem like he knew the ip of whoever was playing to troll streamers.

he cant do anything with the data he collects and he rolled back the update that caused the ip issue

So from what I can tell he never added an IP tracker. I think he just said it as a joke? Well im no dev so idk
