Can you evade SWAT and Lucas by going onto balcony?

Since I don't have the game (and even if I did I'd be too scared to even try xD), I was wondering if someone can confirm or test if hiding on the balcony out of the view through windows can act as safe spot just like bath tub?

No. Also the game isnt that scary after some time because when youre a new player you have no clue whats going on and what youre doing so it gets more and more fun cause youre just trying to get that end game and finish it which makes it fun to just repeat it a bunch.

Well it relies on subtle sound cues and loud jumpscares. If I had sound equalized I'd not have that much problem with these games.
So when you go onto balcony while either was going to enter your flat, they just wait inside or their entering animation is on hold and once you enter back it just gets triggered?
