The game saves every 10 minutes real time, every 20 minutes ingame time. :00, :20 and :40 are the 'checkpoints', and a new threat event happens during this interval. But It seems that will skip saving if there is an active threat present, like Noir at the balcony.

The game also sometimes saves after a failed hack, so that you can't just go to main menu to rewind time. Sometimes, not always.

Unlike WttG1, pressing the pc's power button does not advance time to next day, save and quit. If you just quit or exit to main menu, progress since the last savepoint is lost.

If you're going to savescum, wait 10 seconds after it starts saving. Sometimes it goes crazy and starts re-writing the savefile over and over, making the size jump between 0 and 40k. Give it a moment to stabilize.
