HP Reverb G2 hand tracking.
The hand tracking stops very quickly with a disconnect sound if I move the HP controller slowly or out of sight. This also happens with a fresh battery, of course.

I don't know exactly under what conditions the error occurs. I've been using my G2 controllers for several years now and I keep having problems with it. It is very important that the room you are in is bright. Even with the lights on, I keep losing the connection when the controller comes downstairs. I also sometimes lose connection to a controller when starting Steam VR. In this case, first start Steam VR, check whether the controllers in the headset are recognized, and then start the game. Maybe that will help you.

I only play with my G2 during the day when it's light enough, so that can't be the problem.
I think it's a software bug, but don't know which side it's coming from, WMR or SteamVR.
Also, I have the controller setting in SteamVR set to "never" turn off and the headset to turn off after 5 minutes.

Just to rule it out. Do you also use 1.5 volt batteries for your controllers? The controllers do not work properly with the old 1.2 volt batteries.

I use 1.2 V rechargeable batteries because they are available as standard, but I will buy and try 1.5 V batteries soon, thanks for the tip.
