Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR

Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR

Software IPD not enough
I purchased the HP Windows Mixed reality Head set and Had to return it for a full refund :( The screen res was better than my PSVR and almost as good as the Pimax 4k But I could not get a clean clear image on both eyes :( You need to adjust the IPD so your eyes are in the "sweet" Spot to get a clear image Sadly Windows Mixed Reality IPD setting are too limited :( PSVR allows upto 70mm IPD adjustment WMR only allows upto 67mm adjustment and with my PSVR I need 68mm IPD to get a clear image , Unless Windows Mixed Reality increases the IPD adjustment It seams its not for me :( Oh well back to playing SkyrimVR with me PSVR until this is hopefully improved .

Heyo, I don't have much to add except to echo your concerns. I bought the HP headset some time back and immediately noticed it. I returned it shortly after I fould out it was a software only PID.

The best bet from these headsets is the Samsung Oddesy (which I then bought and have been somewhat happy with for dev work). But at it's price... It's a hard comparison for a 400$ Rift with controlers if you're mostly only gonna be consuming.

The biggest trade off being no setup for the oddesy really (even if you don't do the bounds you can move and walk about) but losing the controllers a bit when they're out of the camera's field of view. And with the Rift, setting up at least 3~4 base stations but knowing you'll never or hardly ever lose the controlers.

The same problem, the same is HP, IPD parameter range is too small, and the machine can not be adjusted, the picture fuzzy, blurred text, unable to focus on the target, I hope Microsoft can quickly modify this parameter range, up to 50 --- 100

Feeling this is a staggering problem, a lot of dollars VR + mobile phone, mobile VR shell comes with IPD hardware adjustment

Such an advanced VR device does not have the corresponding function
I returned my Samsung headset - text was unreadable on it. I have a 60mm IPD and was not able to get a clear image at all, no matter how hard I tried to position the headset on my face.

Pimax 4k .. I just pull that on and it's good to go -- razor sharp text ...

I can't believe they would release hardware *that* bad ..
Same problem for me. My personal PID is arround 69mm. I'm unable to focus properly.
Headset is Lenovo. I'll return it in a few days if there's no solution like an overwrite or something.
Hello everyone,

I'm Paul and I am a PM at Microsoft working on Mixed Reality. This is great feedback, I filed a suggestion via the Feedback Hub app. If you'd like to upvote it please go here: https://aka.ms/Yag9ps
@Paul
Great Feedback?? They should have done their homework before releasing the whole thing.

I'll have to refund if there's no fast solution on this.

I think you are a troll.
@guidofoc
Atleast his Feedback-HUB link is legit
(so would semi-reconsider and start using the feedback HUB)
Changing the IPD via the slider, you can manually change the value - once entered the displayed value resets to 67 (the highest available on the slider). However, the manually entered value is actually used. You can verify this by viewing the IPD value in the registry found here:Computer\HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-830549709-2298230702-1299955731-1001\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Holographic\

TLDR: manually entering a value works, even if the value is >67
@trevorsingrin
i'll try this. if it works ... you are the man!

Ok do you see any change? Even if I move the slider around I see no change in the view, everything stays the same (I have a Lenovo Explorer).

Sure i see changes when moving the slider. I've a Lenovo, too.
Try it in Cliffhouse. Call up Settings and slide while in VR.

Using the HP one here - I set IPD to 74 and it's working great now.
Yes ... my 69 does work well, too!

I see a decimal value of 66000 when in the slider I see 66. Is that correct? So to set it to 70 I have to type 70000 right?

And.. well I still cannot see any difference. What should I see when I move the slider or change the value?
