Check your display cable error 1-4
I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in

I tried restarting my computer

I tried updating my graphics drivers

I tried updating the drivers of the headset itself



but the headset's display still isn't detected by windows under monitors



Windows Ver. 1809 (OS Build 17763.557)

I'm using the Dell Headset

I'm no expert but doesn't the HMDI port have to be a certain version?

Oh I forgot to put that I solved this issue. I disabled my gpu in the device manager and then renabled it while the headset was plugged in

had the same issue. It started to happen 2 days ago out of nowhere. i fixed it as well but by disabling and enabling the headset itself in device manager

same problem here cant play beat saber or half life alyx
when i reinstall windows mixed reality portal, it works again but if you restart your computer, it doesnt work again.

In my case no, i tried this too.
I'm having these same problems but my error is related only to the Usb cable instead, turns out that i found my problem and it is actually my Dell headset, it appears there is something wrong with it, probably something related to faulty cables and it's only working sometimes.

So my suggestion is that if nothing is working for you, so you should try to connect your VR wmr to another PC and see if the same issue happens, so you will be able to know if the problem is something with your PC only or your headset.

Is your GPU An AMD card?

I`m asking this, because i have this error.

There are 3 ways to get my Lenvono Explorer work, and i have to do this ever-time I boot up.

1) detach and reattach the HDMI Lead
2) go into WMR options Via ALL Settings / Headset Display / experience options then select 60 or 90 Hz.
3) Device Manager under Monitor : Disable and enable Mixed Reality Head set (Mentioned in this thread)

Option 3 is the best for me. less flahfull.

on another note, if i reboot and don`t switch on the monitor.
Windows 10 boot`s up with it being displayed on the headset, Weird Eh?

Even Weirder Stereo vision becomes Quad Vision (my eye`s my brain):lunar2020thinkingtiger:

I am not sure. Keep the cable and the controllers. Either sell them on eBay or buy a replacement headset...

Hey, mine is the same issue, it's the same problem but instead with the usb cable, it appears to happen when flipping the headset up and down, sometimes if i flip the headset up it fixes the problem for a time, but eventually the problem appears again.
I decided to buy a new headset but the COVID-19 pandemic made a little hard to buy a VR headset with a good price.

specifically for odyssey+, after several months of of reading online and following suggestions,I finally sent mine back to repair, they replaced the IPD (took 10 days). haven't had any issues since then.

this is a long shot but where did you send it in for repair?

looked up the hmd under my devices in my samsung account. put in a ticket for repair. the ticket gives instructions for shipping label. device was sent somewhere in NJ but i felt Samsung had contracted a facility to repair their devices, it didn't show up as official samsung repair on google maps.

Is anyone else having this problem when they first start the portal after a computer reboot? I now get Error 1-8 instead of 1-4, but if I go do device manager, disable my graphics card (RTX2070), disable my HMD (Odyssey+), enable my graphics card, and finally enable my HMD. Fixes the problem and works every time, but I'd love to be able to track down what is causing it so I don't have to do it every time. It "seems" to be related to the USB-C port on the graphics card. I do use an extender for it, but I've tried it without and tried booting with the HMD not plugged in, but when I plug it in... same issue.
