Beasts of Bermuda

Beasts of Bermuda

Resting bonus and debuff
So...a girl (her name is Creodel) I play with suggested this:

If you sleep, your food value doesn't drop as fast but....you get a debuff if you rest too much. This makes sense because when you sleep, everything is slowed but if you sleep too much you get lethargic. So maybe it will make you slower if you rest for too long and perhaps uncomfortable?

Just a thought.

resting reducing food drain is something That will likely not be added as the devs want people to be active, and want to discourage afking.

Read the entire thing. If they rest too much, they get a debuff. The uncomfortable would eventually make them lose comfort and lose health when the comfort is gone. Essentially, you can sleep yourself to death if you are not careful.

I don´t like the idea. Sorry

Why be sorry? You are entitled to your own opinion.

I did.

But alright.

How is resting to much determined? x amount of time? what is to stop a player from resting a while, get up then rest again.
Hidden threshold that is filled up and goes down when you stand/walk/sprint? Then you need an indicator that you are nearing that threshold. Sort of like a sleep bar.

But if you are already adding a sleepbar, and make resting/sleeping rewarding in the forms of less stats drain. Then they should be far more vunerable as well. Aka being nearly blind or something. otherwise people will just rest nilly willy to reduce their food drain but keep just beyond the point their comfort drops.

Make it so you can't go back to resting until x amount of time. So you have to move around and find food. Maybe like an hour will do? And a sleep bar would be needed. 5 minutes? Just throwing numbers out. And yeah, make it so they are partially blind when waking up. That makes sense to me.

And when you get injured? You need to be able to sit down and rest in this case.
Just sayin

Resting bonus would be when sleeping, can always just sit. Or could make it so you have to use the Use key to activate the sleep?

I'd like to suggest that they add some other activity for when you are full on food and water. Currently the thing people do is just play resting simulator which is super boring and basically makes this an idle game for some. As a suggestion add some kind of reward for all dinos to migrate and actually make the world feel alive.

Yeah. My only thought of how would be AI but that's not going to happen for a while. I seriously do want AI, so we have to keep moving because of AI predators or needing to find AI prey. Or even tree rot, making herbivores have to move.

I was thinking a sort of buff, maybe a growth/comfort buff, that lasts 5-15 minutes whenever you reach a migration goal, such as switching watering holes, going into caves or certain "ancient breeding grounds".

Changing water holes is already a thing...but only for points. So maybe they should add the buff to that and it's only for herbivores, not for carnivores. I do like where you are going with that. I still would prefer there to be AI. I'm bored when I'm alone. :\
