Recently, glimmer and shimmer nesting was changed to increase their value and 'restore the genetic diversity of the game.'
Glimmers and shimmers were never meant to be super common.

Owners of the glimmer and shimmer skins (people who can use the skins on fresh-spawn dinos) can still consistently pass down their glow, but if you do not own the skin, your chances of passing it down via nesting are significantly lower. It's still possible, but now it is much more rare.

Pixie is a term that refers to the Color Shift effect, which is its proper name. Color Shift (pixie) is applicable to ALL shimmers and glimmers, and is not rare or special at all among them. The name Pixie actually comes from someone's OC.

i'm glad for the change, it'll be nice to see something OTHER than glimmer on every dinosaur on the server

rexes, apatos, and acros are always glimmer, i never understood how they spread so fast on every server. it'll be nice to see other skins for once

That's on you then. If all you care about is a skin, and not what inherits you will get from nesting, you probably shouldn't get nested anyways.
If you want to glow so badly, find a skin owner who will nest you or work to participate in the events yourself to earn them.

Don’t quote me on this but I read somewhere that Glimmer/Shimmer from a parent is 7% chance (1 out of 1500 Eggs) and Bio is even rarer at 5% (1 out of 2000 Eggs). It is much quicker to find someone who owns the skin and get a 50% to 100% chance of getting it through nesting. Again those numbers are not accurate so take it with a pinch of salt. Good luck in getting the skins you want though ^^

Is this still true or has it been changed again?

Glimmer and Shimmer parents will pass their skin down very often, 100% if both are the same skin. If you are nested as a Glimmer/Shimmer and don't own the skins, your chance of passing it down drastically fall. Furthermore, some skins are sterile, such as the new Para skin.
