Can you inherit +1 on the same talent twice or is it just +2 or bust?

+2 or bust.

Each tier of inherits is gained at a specific growth level. Tier 1 inherits are gained at 0.45 growth, Tier 2 at 0.6, Tier 3 at 0.8, Tier 4 at 1.0, and finally Tier 5 at 1.2. So they never repeat, and you always know which talents are next in line for potential inherits as you grow.

Thank you so much for the info as I just got the game a few days ago. I've also heard a rumor that if you get a talent to 3/3 before you inherit something on it, you can no longer inherit anything on it, is that true at all?

Definitely not true. I've gotten inherits on a lot of talents I had already 3/3'd.
