spoilers ptera wins 90% of the time
The pro trope move is to fly down directly behind the target, wing beat, and immediately fly up to repeat the process. Or if it's a meg or smaller target, they will just walk up to you and wing beat -- hitting you from outside your attack range. The bigger super-bred tropes will hit for 200+ damage and 40+ injury with one wing beat if you don't have Strong Bones/Thick Hide. Unless you're a rex you probably won't be able to kill them because you won't do enough injury damage to them to ground them, so they can fly off at their leisure. It's pretty overpowered.
Tropes that fly by and bite you aren't really a problem except if they're in big groups/also have many inherits. This isn't how the good tropes generally kill ground targets, in my experience.
As an avid trope player, get bent.

its actually hilarious seeing you drag this up from the bottom of the sea though
