You need more qualified minions.
As for your runs, my best advice is to STOP doing sketchy shet when there's any Notoriety or Evidence on board. Slow the heck down, let the rumours die down. Then resume your spooky business.
Touring the Nine Venerations (In Parallel): Deferred Cults vs. Gambit Cults
I had a clean slate (0 Dread, 0 Fascination, 0 Notoriety, 0 Evidence)
suddenly blow up into a Notoriety flash crash,
and then I cleared it all to restore a clean slate.
Even a Moth 9+, with 70% success rate (to eat Evidence), can fail twice in a row.
But not 3 times in a row (yet). That's the "secret".
Mathematically, a high-aspect double-failure is (30%)² = 09% ~= 1 in 11.
You'll surely snipe at Evidence more than 11 times in 1 game.
Then you should expect a couple of Moth fumbles, and know how to survive it.
It's a great read and compelling prospect but could potentially impact someone's enjoyment of the game <3
Basically it's a university course level engagement with the game while OP is very much pre-high school in terms of familiarity with it.
Idk what are the chances but i used 3 Moth 5 followers and all of them failed and i had to heal them after. I didnt wanna risk getting a corpse cuz i heard it can really backfire
Yes a corpse would be bad. Unless it's a corpse of your enemy :) There are *things* corpses can be quite useful for, if you know the ways.
You need to maneuver around the suspicion.
You need to not have too much Notoriety and Evidence at once and the most reliable way to do that is to do mundane stuff and let the rumours quiet down. Prevention is best. You have a margin of 1 of either Notoriety or Evidence that you can live with. If it's there, treat it as a sign to calm down with the spooky stuff.
If you are a bit too deep and want to stall an investigation, generating vague inconsequential publicity by the way of art might help you confuse and delay the inevitable long enough for the case to dissolve.
If you know enough hidden truths, you can risk trying to share the most dreadful or fascinating with the investigator to shake their resolve.
RNG is hard for players to accept sometimes. My Moth folks have so many scars they look like a scratching post, despite their 70% chances.
That's very interesting! Thank you for the correction!
