High Level Secret Histories
I've played through the game and won several times but one thing that absolutely drives me crazy is how freaking hard it is to get the high level Secret History lores.

I'm currently one step away from a Major Sensation victory but I need to get an item that mainly only drops at Port Noon.

How are you supposed to get the Port Noon Anecdote? I've spent the last 10 hours doing Patron commissions to get Silver Spintria, then using them to fix the Watchman glass or the Wilding Mirror, then using it to break into the Peacock Gate, and then trying to grab a Vagabound's Map from the face down cards. THEN I need to get two and study them together to get the Port Noon Anecdote, and then I have a CHANCE of getting the "True Blood of Saint Januarius" that I need.

I can't be doing this right can I? This is freaking crazy. There has got to be a better way to get the level 14th secret history lore. Doing the math out out I seem to have a ridiculously low chance of ever getting to Port Noon or the other 14th level dungeons this way much less getting the item I need.

I've been doing this for hours and I've only gotten there once.

I like the game but once I pass the spider gate I have a miserable time trying to find the secret history lore for level 12 and 14. Are there any better ways of doing this?

One of the Port Noon Anecdote expeditions will give you the Frangiclave, which lets you go through the Peacock Gate without using a mirror. It never needs repaired.

Also, the absolute most Port Noon Anecdotes you will need before getting Fort Geryk is four. Fort Geryk always has the True Blood. There is a 1-in-4 chance the first time, 1-in-3 the next, 1-in-2 the next, then you will always get it on the fourth if you haven't already gotten it. After that, you get Port Noons, as the repeatable default expedition. You will never get a Port Noon before that.

Port Noon only has a chance of rolling the True Blood, but you can get Port Noon 100% of the time by talking to Soluchana about the Anecdote, rather than doing it the above method. I would advise going for Fort Geryk instead.

Well, there is one book which gives Port Noon Anecdote in one of the earlier expeditions. Also it is more efficient to use Wildering Mirror to get through the Peacock Door, as it only requires Bronze Spiritria to repair(Fragiclaive is even better, of course). But mostly you are doing it right, yes. It is frustrating, and seems to be designed to be such.
It is still much better than before Study rework...
