"What are the words who make sacrifice sweet?" - Grail Lore lvl 6
"What may be lost?" - Moth Lore lvl 6
"What must open, before this Way opens?" - Knock Lore lvl 6
"Where is mercy found?" - Lantern Lore lvl 6
"Where is the queen who was not born?" - Secret Histories lvl 6
Keep in mind, you can upgrade your lore (study two lore of the same type and level together), and you can convert one lore to another (study two lore of the same level, but different type. Each lore type can only be converted to lock, and one other type). Generally speaking, you should be trying to upgrade your lore as much as possible. But you do need an exact level 6 for the Stag's Door Riddle.
Conversion cycle:
Lantern -> Forge -> Edge -> Winter -> Heart -> Grail -> Moth -> Lantern
Any + Knock -> Knock
You can also still travel to "Way: the Wood" or "Way: the White Door" to get secret histories, which you can explore with your cult followers to get more lore.
Contrary to what the previous poster says, you should not be upgrading your lore as much as possible. It takes a lot of time and effort and you can simply find higher level Lore in expeditions for far less effort. Instead, you should only do so when you are otherwise stuck. You can also split Lore smaller again if you already upgraded the Lores you need.
As stated, you need a Lore with an Aspect of 6 (the third level of Lore, as each level increases it by 2). The text of the Lore will directly answer the Riddle presented by the Door, and the Riddle presented is random.
Thank you! In that case, I'm missing Knock 6 lore. I was thinking it should be Knock, just didn't know if I'm missing precise level or completely misinterpreting. I only have level 2 and 4 of that lore.
I did see that I can upgrade lore and dismantle it back, but I missed the fact of conversion one into another! It is absolutely impressive to my first-time-playing eyes that people come up with a conversion cycle just exploring.
Also, I have traveled to "Way: the Wood" or "Way: the White Door" and I collected those 2 secret history pieces. I'm assuming those are the only ones that I'll get because on repeated tries I kept getting regular cards like glimmering or radiance/trembling kind that I don't know how to use yet.
20? My goodness!! Ok, then I'm definitely missing something.
At this point, as far as places, I have
1. House Violet (my current HQ)
2. Unattended Church (trying to explore it again only asks me if I want to make it new HQ)
3. An Abandoned Warehouse (also only offers me to move HQ there)
4. Morland's shop (now closed)
5. Oriflamme's Auction House (which kept giving me the same book, so I'm assuming I can only sell there from now on)
6. Ecdysis Club
That's it. I'm completely puzzled by where should I get more expeditions from.
I also have two books written in strange languages I can't seem to learn from anywhere yet. Maybe there's a way to translate them I'm unaware of, and I can get something to explore with from them?
Thank you, I traveled to each about 5-6 times and thought secret histories were a one-time deal.
Thank you for the tips!
In that case, if you place in the first slot in study ANY lvl 4 lore, and your lvl 4 Knock lore in the second slot, it'll make a single lvl 6 lore, which will get you past the riddle.
I honestly don't think it takes that much time, to upgrade or subvert your lore. I recommend first placing the lore you want to combine/upgrade into the study slot, and reading the aspects.
Beginning upgrades are super quick and easy. You'll only need , for knock, an erudition or a headquarters with a library. Go library! You might also need a glimmering, depending on what other lore you're combining it with. Even late in the game, I disagree that it's better to go searching through locations. It's hard to know what locations have what lore (without the wiki), it uses funds, and generates notoriety (which can get you kicked out of the best job in the game, if you don't time it right). Upgrading is pretty straightforward.
