Glimmering Lesson wasted?
Okay, I got the necessary amount of Glimmering to get to 5 Passion, but instead of Passion I got an "Upgrade Moth Influence" card. I could do absolutely nothing with it, and it burned up in barely a second.
What the hell, game?

What the OP described seems more like a bug I also encountered. Depending on what you put into the lore slot when doing the level 4 upgrade, it shows descriptions that belong to lore upgrade / subversion research. I didn't want to mess with that and tried different lores until I got the proper description, but I'd be interested to know if you could actually get lore with this bug, and whether it eats your skill card or something.

To reach supernatural levels of Imagination and Passion, one must have the proper occult influence added to call upon. I believe it is the third level of Moth for Imagination, third of Lantern for Scholarship, and for Exercise it could either be Forge, Grail, or Heart.

ohhhh, I had no idea that Lore changes something.
Oh well. At least I have my 5 Reason.

It's still a bug though, it should just not accept the invalid lores as an option.
