Safe ways to generate dread/restlessness?
I'm sitting at about 2 fascination with a season of visions active, and I'm trying to find ways to generate some dread quickly to bring it down. I know dreaming with reason sometimes generates restlessness, but it apparently just as often creates more fascination, which I cannot afford.

I can't count on seasons of craving to generate restlessness anymore since I'm past the stag gate on the path of the lantern ascension, so the worst that happens if I don't satisfy them is I go down a mark and exaust a reason temporarily in the proccess.

Any ideas?

Let your health decay. The card that result can be worked for a dread. Talking to nemesis about winter lore will also generate dread.

Let my health decay? I don't understand? My health is pretty stable. Unless you mean the Decrepitude card? because I'd almost forgotten that even existed. How do I get one, again? LEt an affliction card run out? Hmm...I would never have guessed Decrepitude would be useful, but all the same, I don't think I have enough health to spare one to become Decrepitude. Will definitly keep it in mind, though.

As for your second suggestion, talking to my nemisis, that is just what I wound up doing. The resulting Noteriety wasn't really a problem for me at that time. AND luckily I only had to do it once due to triggering a Moth event shortly afterwards that gave me a Restlessness.

Go to the Mansus, the White Door usually drops dread. If you aren't up to that point yet then just pray to dream RNG unless you have some winter lore around to try to use on a hunter (might turn the hunter insane(most likely not unless it's high level lore) and it usually gives a dread.

The White Door's entrance and the upper option of the Stag Door can lead to dread with no risk of fascination.

Talk with the hunter about winter lore and you get always dread, but beware with the notoriety

Compiling some of the answers given, and a pointing out a few more:

1 - A Sickness season event will snag one Health and turn into an Afliction. If you let the Affliction run out, it'll turn into Decrepitude. Work with Decrepitude (begging on the streets) has a reliable chance to produce Dread.
2 - White Door. The open spot has a chance to give Restlessness. If you let Restlessness decay, it'll turn into dread.
3 - Stag Door: The Ascent of Knives area has a chance to give Winter influence. If you let Winter influence decay, it'll turn into Dread.
4 - Spider Door: The Chamber of Ways area has a chance to give Moth influence. If you let Moth influence decay, it'll turn into Restlessness, which in turn turns into Dread after decaying.
5 - Talk to a Hunter about Winter lore: Whether you're successful or not in driving them insane, you'll generate Dread.

Also, a few other safe ways of getting influences:
6 - Painting: Painting with a Moth pigment will yield a Moth influence, and painting with a Winter pigment, will generate Winter influence. Those were explained earlier.
7 - Studying: Books that give high level lore (5+) of anything other than Lantern will almost always give a piece of Dread by reading them (Lantern lore gives Fascination instead). Confirmation needed on this one, because I think some Moth lore can give Fascination instead.

And lastly, if you're desperate, you can always visit the Ecdysis Club and pray for the RNG.

The Museum of Worms can also give winter lore, and create dread itself. Of course, it's either prohibitively expensive or late enough in the game you couls probably just win instead, but it's an option.

Yeah. It also can straight out give you Dread too, but it's not as safe, because it can also give you Fascination.
