Upgrading Desire Card

How do you upgrade your desire card? It usually starts as Enlightenment but you can dream to change it to either Sensation or Power.

Upgrading and changing it are different, are you trying to CHANGE your desire or further your ascension with one you already have?

a small hint: you can click on a slot in a verb box to see what sort of things it can accept.
a slightly bigger hint: sometimes you can get information by putting things into a verb box and seeing whether the title & flavor text change.

To change a desire into a different one:
Dream about your current desire, when you get the option to feed another card in use passion for power or health for sensation, I think, might have them backwards

If I remember right you can upgrade your desire by dreaming about it, might be work though, and then using either the resource associated with that and/or an upgraded lore associated with it, I could be wrong as I only got that far once.

Dream about it and add in lore of Lantern, Forge, or Grail depending on which one it is. That will upgrade it to a Dedication. However, there's not much real reason to do this unless you're sure about which one you want, since you can do this at any time but you can't switch back.
