How to get a desire?

I've been sitting here for a while trying to figure out how to get past the way to the white door. It says to add desire, but I can't find where to get one. I've upgraded all of the lore cards and I'm not getting any books from morland or the auction. I also can't do any explorations as I don't have any followers, so, I'm not sure where to go from here...

Do you have a Temptation? If so, Dream on it with the right Lore to get a Desire.
Sensation-Grail
Power-Forge
Enlightenment-Lantern.

You can also dream on a Temptation with Reason or Passion to change type.

I thought there are 9 possible cults?

Cults and desires are seperate. Desire is your personal goal rather than that of your cult. You could have a Grail cult while seeking Enlightenment if you wanted.

You can found your cult on any of the 8 Aspects, but that's seperate from the Desire. You could persue Enlightenment with a Moth cult, for example.

Dream of Lore, either Grail, Lantern, or Forge. :)

I drempt on the temptation with lore and got a dedication, which doesn't work?

Can you as a detective also get desire this way.. I used the package early on.. .derp

if you burn the evidence you cant have a desire

Yes. You can't get to the stag door, and you can't win the game with a major victory. You can still get a minor victory from Glover & Glover or from the detective job, if you still have it.
