Ran out of 'Reason'?

Currently in my first playthrough and used 'Reason' as a resource to recruit people as followers, unknowing that it actually takes it away. I am now sitting around with 0 'Reason' and can't find a way to regain a single point.

What are ways to regain 'Reason' and are these points permanently lost?

It's pretty hard to regain Reason from having none, but there are ways! If you get 2 Erudition, Study both of them to gain another Reason. Normally you get Erudition by studying Reason, but you can also get them by doing random things with Lantern cultists, reading tomes, and venturing through the Stag Door (if you've progressed that far). That said if you're in the early game and lack a good way of getting funds, this might be a good time to bid farewell to this particular run and start afresh.

That said, check around your board for a "Reason (Dimmed)" card - it's possibly it's just taking the 60 seconds to refresh unless it was just flat-out eaten by something.

Well, you learn from mistakes, just wanted to make sure the run wasn't salvageable somehow.
