Influence & Power cards - How do I use them?

I've gained a number of Influence cards (like Buzzing In The Brain which is a minor Moth card, or An Intensity Of Radiance which is a 6-point Lantern card). I know I need to use a high-strength Lantern influence card in order to proceed with my ambition (Dedication: Enlightenment + way through the Stag Door + Lantern influence card, stronger than a 6-point one).

My problem is, how do I get stronger Influence cards? Can I improve or combine the weaker ones? Do I use them anywhere else? Or do I need something else altogether?

Certain followers can do augury, which, if successful, will produce Influences of varying power.

That's how I've gotten my Influences so far, except for a lot of Buzzings and a few Consciousness of Radiances, but they've never brought back more than 6-point powers, and even then what they bring back is random. But I don't know what to do with them or what to use them for, except for the one I'm looking for and don't have yet.

I'm pretty sure I got a 7 Lantern influence card from augury.

Certain rituals use influence.

I've yet to make even one ritual, either. How do I do those? Putting my occult society card in the speech option only really offers me chances to turn acquiantances into believers and believers into disciples, but I haven't found any other use for it. I assume rituals could be done through there but I must be missing something.

Rituals are created with Lore at the Study Token.

If you want a ritual that uses Influence, Sexton's Secret + Forge or Moth + Forge will give you one.

Oh, thanks very much! I hadn't realized I could combine more than just the same types of lore together. This should open up more options for me. :)
