How to change cult focus? (MILD SPOILER FOR PRIEST DLC)

Starting as Priest inherits the cult from the previous self as well as one randomly picked follower. However, it also implies that it is possible to change the cult's aspect exactly once -- but, true to form, does not leave any hints as to how this can be accomplished.

Has anyone found the trick yet?

I've heard you should try speaking with the cult and your lore of choice to possibly convert to that.

But that's only what I heard. Haven't done it yet.

Talk with your cult. You either have to start the talk with nothing in it, then add lore, or add lore but no person and hit go- don't remember which one.

I am having a similar problem with the Ghoul start.
I am at the point of starting the cult but I only have a Grail lore piece. Is it possible to get more/different types? Or will it default to winter anyways?

Talk to your Cult. Press start with the other three slots empty. This will let you rededicate your cult and open you to other options for ascencion, should the way of St Agnes be too selfless for you. I had to be told too.
