Report a translation problem
We haven't had any other reports of this kind lately, so I'd like to investigate. Could you send us your game's logs (Player.log) at support@weatherfactory.biz ? You'll find them in the same location as your save file, which you can locate by going to your in-game Options menu and clicking on BROWSE FILES/VIEW SAVE FILE.
I have a Player.log file in:
Library/Logs/Unity but I don't if it's the correct one, I have some other games that use the Unity Engine too.
There's a unity.Weather Factory.Cultist Simulator folder...
Library/Application Support/unity.Weather Factory.Cultist Simulator/Unity/[folder with a long number]/PerformanceReporting
The PerformanceReporting folder is empty though.
There's also Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Cultist Simulator
I'm not seeing any player logs in there either.
I tested Cultist Simulator today on macOS 10.14.6 and was able to run it without issue, so it doesn't look like this is just a consequence of using the latest version of macOS.
I did find the actual log location on that operating system version, however: "~/Library/Logs/Unity", which should contain a Player.log file. You may need to make the "Library" folder visible first, which you can do by going into Finder's viewing preferences. It might also be in a "Weather Factory" folder in the same logs folder.
Please have a look there and send us your log files to support@weatherfactory.biz . Hopefully we can get to the root of this issue. :)
You can also press-and-hold the Option key, and then select Library from the GO menu.

I'm really not sure what to suggest at this point. :/ Sorry. I'm not able to reproduce it on my end and without logs I don't know what to look for.
The only other option I can think of is to try an older version of the game, in case this is a problem brought on by our periodic Unity upgrades. You can get an old build by going to your game's Steam properties, heading into the Betas section, typing in "oldbrokenruins" as a password and choosing the new "unitylegacy" beta that shows up.
We'll keep trying to reproduce it on our end.
