Game crashes on mac?
Got the game today, but after deciding graphic settings and launching the game, the Weather Factory logo loads up, my cursor becomes the rainbow spinner, and eventually the game crashes.
Running on macOS Mojave v 10.14.6 (most recent)

Hi Luna.

We haven't had any other reports of this kind lately, so I'd like to investigate. Could you send us your game's logs (Player.log) at support@weatherfactory.biz ? You'll find them in the same location as your save file, which you can locate by going to your in-game Options menu and clicking on BROWSE FILES/VIEW SAVE FILE.

Same exact problem here. Just bought the game, on MacOS 10.14.6 with pretty maxed out macbook pro, game hangs on the Weather Factory logo. Can't get to any game menu since I can't get "in-game".. There is no such file in the Local Files area that Steam shows.

Ah right, of course. Could you then try navigating to "~/Library/Application Support/Weather Factory/Cultist Simulator" and seeing if you can find a Player.log file in there?

There is no Weather Factory folder in my Application Support folder

Same here, no such folder

Personally, I'm running OSX 10.11.6, and I'm not having any issue running the game.

I have a Player.log file in:

Library/Logs/Unity but I don't if it's the correct one, I have some other games that use the Unity Engine too.

There's a unity.Weather Factory.Cultist Simulator folder...

Library/Application Support/unity.Weather Factory.Cultist Simulator/Unity/[folder with a long number]/PerformanceReporting

The PerformanceReporting folder is empty though.

There's also Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Cultist Simulator

I'm not seeing any player logs in there either.

On my end I don't see a Unity folder in my logs folder, nor a Steam folder in my Application Support folder...

Hmm. Then maybe a recent macOS update changed something that broke CS. We will investigate this, thanks for reporting it.

Hello everyone.

I tested Cultist Simulator today on macOS 10.14.6 and was able to run it without issue, so it doesn't look like this is just a consequence of using the latest version of macOS.

I did find the actual log location on that operating system version, however: "~/Library/Logs/Unity", which should contain a Player.log file. You may need to make the "Library" folder visible first, which you can do by going into Finder's viewing preferences. It might also be in a "Weather Factory" folder in the same logs folder.

Please have a look there and send us your log files to support@weatherfactory.biz . Hopefully we can get to the root of this issue. :)

You can also press-and-hold the Option key, and then select Library from the GO menu.

I'm really not sure what to suggest at this point. :/ Sorry. I'm not able to reproduce it on my end and without logs I don't know what to look for.

The only other option I can think of is to try an older version of the game, in case this is a problem brought on by our periodic Unity upgrades. You can get an old build by going to your game's Steam properties, heading into the Betas section, typing in "oldbrokenruins" as a password and choosing the new "unitylegacy" beta that shows up.

We'll keep trying to reproduce it on our end.

The game now runs for me. Perhaps coincidence, but it started running after macOS Mojave 10.14.6 Supplemental Update 2 was installed today. I did find the log under that Unity folder, but unfortunately did not take a copy of it before I had a successful game start

Same exact problem here (OSX Mojave). Game was working fine earlier today, now I get the infinite spinner on the splash screen, and eventual crash. I've uninstalled / reinstalled, but no luck. It's a shame, as I was just starting to get addicted to this game!
