Tips on beating hell or high water?

I managed to arrive at the camp where they kept the purifying water thing but I was already at level 3 zombie alert aka horde on my case..

Well depend on your team though . Most newbie play that map too. If they don't go rambo , you will have good time

when that happens i prefer ot just dodge and get the purifier and use the flare gun to start the escape while walkers are distracted by the humans

Try using very aggressive styles when dealing with humans once they're alerted. Got to kill them as fast as possible.

don't shoot zombies, they are easy enough to take out with melee, especially if you get a nice choke point, i noticed that a lot of people have run and gun mentality which simply hastens your demise in this game, and obviously try to avoid car alarms and noisey traps :)

dude i do all that.. im playing as scout with mp5 and pistol with pickaxe. using pickaxe to kill zombies but once i encounter humans they don't give a fk and make a lot of noise, this unfortunately forces me to shoot back causing the horde meter to increase..

i tried avoiding waves altogether and do objectives.. i'll keep tryin..

You need to use stealth and keep the horde counter low. If it pops to 3 you chance of completion drops darmatically. Most pugs dont want to try to stealth the human parts or the see HORDE INC and say ♥♥♥♥ it and shoot everything.

You can play solo, the missions scale to number of players. That's what i had to do, too many ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ playing this like L4D or tripping traps on purpose.

Ye, i find that pugs panic when they see a group of 30 or so zombies, they pull out a gun and start blasting, which only atracts more zombies, which in their mind means they need to shoot more, and before you know it, the horde counter is at max and you're screwed.

The only thing I don,t understand about this mission is how come so many people in the Beta knew how to beat it then when they play the real game it's a mess. Seems like they forgot how to do it.

i had to run in circles just to spray his head to remove helmet then run around to get the headshot. wasn't easy but it totally messed up my plan of keeping the noise level down

When you arrive at the first group of humans, use the old man to take out the sniper. Sneak to the left into the restaurant. You can take out 3-4 of the enemies before being seen. Finish the rest off. Walkers are easy, just jump on top of a van or car whenever 1-2 of your team are down and wait for everyone to respawn.

if you have grant on your team, have him throw a molotov at the heavy, it does a little damage but the main thing is that the heavy will just stand there flailing around so you can just walk up and melee him.
